During World War II, Germany introduced Blitzkrieg, or “lightning war,” a fast and coordinated military strategy combining tanks, aircraft, and infantry to overwhelm opponents. First demonstrated in Poland in 1939, it emphasized speed, surprise, and concentrated force to break enemy lines before they could respond. The Blitzkrieg tactic brought Germany early victories across Europe, including the rapid conquests of France, Belgium, and the Netherlands. However, as the war progressed, its effecti
