This spring, the Met bids farewell to Sonja Frisell’s monumental production of Verdi’s Aida, a Met mainstay since its premiere on December 8, 1988. As a final send-off for this classic Met production, we’ve crunched the numbers for all the people and props (and horses) in one of the most famous scenes in operatic history: the grand Triumphal March in Act II.
