The F-16 Fighting Falcon (also known as the Viper) is a single-engine, multi-role combat aircraft manufactured in the United States. The single-seat aircraft was developed for the U.S. Air Force and entered service in 1978. Initially designed as a light fighter, the F-16 was further developed into an all-weather, multi-role combat aircraft due to high demand. Originally developed and produced by General Dynamics, it has been manufactured by Lockheed Martin[2] – then known as Lockheed Corporation
