RAF Halton hosted the first RAFAC National-level music camp for two years. Nearly 60 cadet musicians were in training for an appearance at 2026’s Birmingham International Tattoo; an appearance that will mark the Air Training Corps’ 85th anniversary. Royal Air Force Air Cadets from Trent Wing Air Cadets gathered at the Commonwealth War Graves Commission plot in Scopwick Church Burial Ground last weekend to remember those Commonwealth air force personnel who died during the Second World War. This includes Pilot Officer John Gillespie Magee, who is buried in the plot, with his headstone bearing a line from his famous poem: “Oh I have slipped the surly bonds of earth...
